Move your Day One journal into Byeori

Years of Day One entries are hard to look back on — they sit in a timeline you scroll. Bring them into Byeori and they get linked to each other and grouped into the topics you keep coming back to, in your own words.

How to do it

  1. 1

Export from Day One as JSON

In Day One, choose Export and pick JSON. It makes a ZIP — keep it as it is, no need to unzip.

  2. 2

    Create a free Byeori account

On the web, with Google, Apple or email.

  3. 3

Go to Settings → Data → Import → Day One

Click “Choose files” and pick the ZIP.

  4. 4

    Check the preview and import

You see the entries before anything is saved.

What comes along

  • Each journal as its own folder
  • Photos in your entries
  • Tags, the date of each entry, and the place it was written

Good to know

  • Video and audio don’t come along yet

What happens after you import

Byeori links your notes to each other and groups them into the topics you keep coming back to — a map of what you’ve written, in your own words. Nothing is rewritten. Your map starts once you have at least 8 longer notes (about 200 characters or more each) — for most people who bring their notes, that’s import day.

Your notes aren’t used to train AI, and you can export everything any time.
